# The Virasoro algebra and sectors with infinite statistical dimension

We show that the sectors with lowest weight $h\geq 0$, $h\neq j^2$, $j\in {1/2}\mathbb{Z}$ of the local net of von Neumann algebras on the circle generated by the Virasoro algebra with central charge c=1 have infinite statistical dimension.
